Happy Hanukkah!
|
CAMP would like to wish all of you who celebrate it a Happy Hanukkah! For those who do not know, Hanukkah is an eight-day Jewish festival also known as the Festival of Lights. The Jewish people observe the festival by lighting one candle on a nine-branched menorah - or 'hanukiah candelabrum' - each day. Hanukkah began last Sunday and will continue until Monday, December 14.

We are just about two months into the TILA-RESPA
Integrated Disclosure (TRID) Rule and one item that has caused some confusion
is the MLDS requirement, or non-requirement.

NMLS Licensing Update
|
|
Have you renewed your NMLS license yet? It was taking close to 15 days for your NMLS license to be approved after paying your renewal fees. Do you have someone who is looking to get the NMLS license? You may want to have them wait until January to start their NMLS application. California has adopted the Uniform State Test (UST) as of January 1, 2016. If you sign up now, you will still have to take the state test but if you wait until January, you will only need to take the national test.

As we come to the close of the 2015 calendar year, we notice there are several major trends in the mortgage industry that are probably due to new regulations, taking shape this year. Zero Down Jumbo Loans

Yes! You read the heading right. For those of you who live in the San Francisco Bay Area, there is a credit union offering zero down jumbo loans up to $2 Million! We need to make sure you are aware of the product that is available to all consumers. There is no mortgage insurance on these loans either! This loan is available for anyone works in San Francisco or San Mateo Counties and can be used to purchase a home anywhere in the nine Bay Area Counties: San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, or Solano. New 4506-T
|
|
In case you missed our previous updates, there is a new 4506-T form that you should be using now. If you use the previous form, the IRS will reject your request. Some of the LOS processing software has not been updated so make sure to save this link.

HAMP Loans

|
The government’s Home Affordable Modification Program is set to expire at the end of the year. If you know someone who qualifies for this program, you need to talk to them before the program expires. However, there are parts of this program which may remain in place. Click here to read more.

Legislative Update

Make sure to register for the 2016 NAMB Legislative and Regulatory Conference taking place Saturday-Wednesday, April 9-13 in Washington, D.C. This is a "must attend" event for all mortgage professionals. Last year, more than 10,000 realtors attended NAR's Lobby Day. This year, NAMB would love to get 1,000 mortgage professionals to D.C. to help NAMB lobby on Capitol Hill.
